About Us

One of the things we are proudest of at Brookdale Dental is our staff. We love what we do and we are committed to all aspects of patient care. Our front desk and business office staff are friendly, knowledgeable, and are anxious to assist you with your individual scheduling, billing and insurance needs. Our experienced and gentle clinical staff participates in ongoing education and training in the latest technology and dental health research in order to offer the highest level of care to their patients. Our staff understands the anxiety often associated with visiting the dentist, and are compassionate and skilled at helping patients receive optimal treatment with optimal comfort. We are excited to get to know you and welcome you to our practice family!

Our Staff

Jana - Financial Coordinator

Jana began working in dentistry in 1990. Upon graduating from BSU in 1994 with her Bachelor of Arts, she chose to continue her career in the dental field. She joined the Brookdale Dental team in 2004. Jana strives to be thorough and complete in educating patients about their treatment needs and financial options. She loves assisting patients as they invest in their oral health and smile. In her free time she and her family enjoy a number of outdoor activities including tennis, biking and hiking.

Shelly - Financial Coordinator

Shelly graduated from BSU with a Bachelors of Business Administration in 1994. She has been involved in dentistry since 2001 and has worked with Dr Barney since 2004. Shelly is the "insurance specialist" in the office and believes it is important to make every patient's financial experience a positive one. Shelly and her two daughters spend much of their free time at the racetrack watching her husband Rob race a variety of stock cars. She also enjoys scrapbooking and spending lots of time with family and friends.

Alayne - Hygiene Coordinator

Alayne owned and managed her own business for 14 years and has been involved in Customer Service since 1991. She has been working at Brookdale Dental since 2006 where her love of people and ability to make every patient feel welcome is very evident. Alayne is the "personality" of our office and her enthusiasm is loved by all. Along with spending time with her husband Mike and their four daughters, Alayne enjoys time spent with friends, reading and seeing movies. She also loves pasta, the color red and disco dancing!

Lana - Certified Dental Assistant

Lana began her career as Certified Dental Assistant in 1996 when she attended the BSU Dental Assisting Program. She has worked with Dr. Barney all but one year since her graduation and is certified in all expanded functions. Lana is very knowledgeable and is a vital part of our clinical staff. She loves spending time with her husband, Tony and their two little boys. In her spare time Lana enjoys reading and taking her children to the park. Lana loves Subway sandwiches, Starbucks in the morning and speaks some "mean" Russian.

Angie - Certified Dental Assistant

Angie became a Certified Dental Assistant after attending the Assist to Succeed Program in 2006. She is certified in all expanded functions and has worked at Brookdale Dental since her graduation. Angie is the "artistic" member of our staff and is greatly appreciated for her abilities as well as her ever present smile. She enjoys scrapbooking and numerous outdoor activities as well spending time with her family. Angie, being the youngest of our team, has many "matchmaking co-workers" always on the lookout for the perfect match!

R. Eric Barney, D.D.S.

Dr. Barney grew up in Eastern Idaho. He received a Bachelor of Science from Idaho State University. He then attended dental school at Creighton University in Nebraska, where he graduated in the top ten of his class.
